Sand artist Sudarsan to highlight Indian cinema in Moscow |

Bhubaneswar, April 16 (Odisha.in) -Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik Friday said he will carve on sand an image related to Indian cinema at Moscow later this month.
Pattnaik said he has planned to create a 2.5 meter high image at the second Moscow world sand sculpture championship 2010 to be held from 28th April to 8th May.
“I have not yet decided what exactly I am going sculpt but definitely it will be on Indian cinema” Pattnaik who hails from Orissa’s beach town of Puri, some 56 kms from here told Odisha.in.
Pattnaik who has won several awards in different parts of the world for his sand sculptures, had won a special prize at the first world sand sculpture championship in Moscow last year for his 15 feet high sand sculpture of the Taj Mahal.
“I am the only artist who has been selected from India. Pavel Zadanyuk, the Chairman of the selection committee has informed me this today (Friday) on email” he said. Artists from 11 other countries have been selected which included America, Russia, England, Italy, Island, Czech Republic, Bulgeria, Ukraine, and Spain, he said.
The theme of the second championship is World Cinema (famous movies from famous directors with famous actors).This championship will be held at Kolomenskoe Museum Reserve, Moscow, Pattnaik said.
