Paralakhemundi, October 29 (Odisha.in) One of two female elephants died in Lakhari sanctuary in Gajapati district Sunday night hours after her arrival from Andhra Pradesh.
About 11 elephants from this sanctuary in July entered into Andhra in a herd killed ten people their damaging number of houses.
Andhra forest officials had trapped four of them and had sent two of them one five years old and another 35 years old Saturday. The older elephant died in the pond where she had gone to take bath after drinking water.
The cause of the death is not known also experts fear she could have died due to dehydration and stress.
