Maoists attack infrastructure company camp, burn vehicles

Sambalpur, Oct 25 (Odisha.in)Armed Maoist rebels on Tuesday raided a camp of an infrastructure company in Jujomura police station area of Orissa’s Sambalpur district and set fire to several vehicles used in road construction work, official said.
 
Inspector in charge of the local police station P.K.Das said about 15-20 guerillas attacked the camp of ARSS Infrastructure Ltd at Mundher village at about 5.30 pm and torched the vehicles.
 
“They however did not cause any harm to the employees present at the camp” he told Odisha.in. While citing preliminary information Das said the numbers of vehicles burnt were about ten, a local television channel put it at over 30.
 
More than half of Orissa are Maoist affected. The district of Sambalpur is one of the hardest hit areas.
